Planes, Seals and Crabs

Planes, Seals and Crabs

Time to move on. We trundled out of camp for the last time saying our good byes.
On the way to our next adventures we stopped at the airport to watch an airplane take off from the beach.
Mum wanted to go to a seafood factory to buy scallops. While we were there our neighbour from camp popped up, funny seeing you here so soon after saying goodbye. We were going to a new camp today to be close to the ferry terminal because the ferry was very early in the morning. We decided to go the long way, we knew where it was because we passed it yesterday going to Castlebay. After a bit Betsy came into Castlebay from a different direction. She stopped so mum could buy some scones from the post office. Odd, but you should have seen the scones! Soon we were off again to the Borve Camping and Caravan site.
When we got pitched up we went a wander looking for seal beach. It was quite a walk, too hot for walking. Dad had a sore toe, I was just knackered! There were not a lot of sealmonsters at seal beach so we headed back to betsy. Back at camp dad went to the pot wash. When we came back it was not just the dishes he came back with, but a big bag of fishy goodness. The camp owner had so much lobstersees and crabees he was giving them away! On to the pot with them then!

It was a long day. The heat just took it out of me. Early night, got a boat to catch back to the mainland tomorrow. Poppys love Outer Hebrides. Back soon.

The journey back to the mainland had an unexpected twist. Dad, why has the ferry stopped? “One of the ferry’s engines has failed.” Is that why we are just bobbing about? “Yes Poppy” Oh OK then
