Glen Coe to Silversands
We have been back for a few weeks and my paws were getting itchy. We were looking at the weather forecast and it was bleak. Everywhere was to be windy with driving rain for the next week. Well we all know how many times they get it wrong so we decided to ignore the bad weather girl and go for it. Betsy all loaded up she headed north. The weather good, bad then Ugly. When we stopped at Glen Coe for the night I had to watch for a window of dryness to go out on patrol.
What a difference a day makes. After brecky Betsy went to a place I have never been to since I was a pup. The car park was busy but she found a place to rest. “It’s a long time since you have been here Poppy. You weren’t even one” said Dad. Well I’m not a pup now, let’s explore.
Up into the forest, lots of smells and logs to climb on. Come on Mum, come on Dad.
I took mum and dad through down a path that cut through the forest then started to climb again. Suddenly I stopped. Sniff, sniff sniff sniff. I know that smell squirrelsees. Sneaky squirrelsees kept out my way. I passed by a cut down tree, a peoplesee thinks they’re funny.
Out of the woods the sky opened and below it was a big pond. Nope don’t remember being here.
We walked round the pond, something must have been there as a memory because I knew a shortcut to go back to Betsy. I had a last peek at the pond and took Mum and Dad to Betsy.
Betsy took us back past the camp. Mum wanted to check out another campsite on the loch. Betsy let herself into this new campsite and trundled all the way down to pitches on the shore. It was a nice spot but miles away from anywhere.
Off again. We went round Loch Leven up by Onich and on to Fort William stopping to buy some milk. Fort William behind us we passed by Glenfinnan. I couldn’t believe how busy it was. Cars parked up for miles. I bet they are all here to see the Hogwarts Express. Got that T shirt. Betsy ploughed on. She left the big road and pulled into hotel at Arisaig. It was lunch time and mum wanted to get food from The Shellfish Shack. A roll in crab and seaweed with a roll in langoustines. YUM.
As we explored the village we had to make a decision, boat ride or no boat ride. Mum said The bad weather girl said it was to be terrible tomorrow. Mum, but she said it was to be terrible today and its been OK. “Alright Poppy we’ll book our spots on the boat” she said. Just then the boat came into the pier. It’s a sign.
We have been here before and Betsy knew her way to camp. Soon she was pitched up and we could go out to play. The weather was better the last time, but I’ll take this. Ball?
After ball it’s always good to have a climb.
We settled in for the night. It was just to windy to sit outside so TV a couch it is then. Even Mr Sun tried to come out to say good night to us.
Time for nighttime patrol. I took Dad down to the beach it was still light so I could see how much the water had eaten the beach. Beter not hang around too long Dad.
