Poppy goes to Balloch
Today is a hollybags day. The sun is out but it very very cold. Today we are going to Balloch for a change of scene. We are going early in the morning to avoid covid peoplsees. When we got to park strange peoplsees were jumping about to music another was shouting at them and another was lifting things over and over again, I looked at dad. “It keep fit Poppy, don’t worry you wont catch me or mum doing that” oh, ok. All the paths were very slippy, mum and dad couldn’t walk on them and had to use the grass. We followed the paths up to the castle where an ice rink had formed, mum and dad never went near it.
As we left the castle, I met one of my distant cousins, he was a white scotty dog. I introduced myself I have never met a white scotty before. After a game of ball it was time to go down to the water. When I got to the jetty I had a swan to chase. “Stop Poppy” shouted dad, too late I chased it into the water. Why are mum and dad afraid of swans? It’s just a big bird, no match for poppys.
We plodded around the loch side and I found some rocks to climb on. Poppys love climbing on rocks.
The side of the loch was frozen, never seen loch Lomond with frozen edges before, still it means my paws won’t get black.
The paths were getting more peoplsees on them, it was time to go. One last look at the water then back to mini and home.
