Nasty Vets and Big Houses

Nasty Vets and Big Houses

Today started as every other day but in a twist as we left Granny at the house. Another change was Blue went a totally different direction than usual and after a few minuets she stopped outside a funny looking wee building. Mmmm whats going on here then. Dad picked me up and we went inside. NO! It’s a nasty vets! The vet prodded me and poked me and eventually gave dad some bits of paper he stamped. Finally, I could escape.

Blue took us back to house where Granny got in and we were off again.

Blue hit the country roads of France, though small villages and hamlets surrounded with fields and trees. After a while she stopped of at a big park. Where are we? “We are at the Château de Chenonceau,” said Dad. Mmmm looks like a park to me. There was a big tree lined road and beside it was something very odd. I looked down. Duckys. But what on earth are they swimming in? French duckys are strange, have they never heard of water?

Further along the road was a big castle, who lives here dad? Can we go in?

Granny didn’t want to come so she stayed in the gardens. To get in Dad had to pick me up because Poppys are allowed in but not allowed to walk inside. The French have some weird ideas. After we had plodded around the big house, we went looking for Granny. First I searched outside the big house. Sniff, sniff, sniff, sniff. Nope not here. Better check down by the river, nope not here.

Maybe she is still in the gardens, I searched every inch. As always in the last place I searched, I found her. Mum, Dad told you I would find Granny. The pack all together again I could get into the serious business of exploring every new smell.

We plodded back to Blue and were away again. Blue took us away in an other direction, lots of wee roads cutting through the countryside. She started to slow on a very long straight road with a castle at the end of it. Is that where we are going I sail while looking across to Dad. “Yes, its called the Château de Chambord” said Dad. Blue pulled in and we went out to explore. Mmm new smells. I even picked up some pee mails.

We walked about for a bit but didn’t go in. Probably for the best a house that size dad’s arms would be killing him if he had to carry me all over it. We went to explore the grounds instead. The ground are a much better option for me. I can walk on my own four paws and the smells are nice and fresh, not all musty like in big houses.

Time was getting on and tummy’s were starting to rumble, Time to go back to house dad? I could tell we had a big day tomorrow, Poppys can always tell the day before we are on the move. I wonder where we will be going tomorrow.
