Poppy goes to Amboise
It was a long, long ride in Blue as we left Brittany behind and headed deep into the middle of France. Blue stopped several times so the we could stretch their legs. By the time we reached our new house, it was getting dark, and Sister Moon was already up in the sky, keeping watch while we settled in. The next morning, Mr Sun was shining, and Blue announced, in her quiet Blue way, that she was taking us into town for the market. To get there, she had to cross a big bridge. The town was very busy, and poor old Blue had a terrible time finding somewhere to rest. I sat patiently, of course, though I may have given the situation one or two firm looks.
The market was mobbed they sold everything, my favourite stalls were the ones that sold all kinds of strange fishes. Oh the smells pure magic. We stayed for a a good while but soon our tummys told us to get some lunch. Mum found a nice place that had tables in the street where we had a rest and cheeses and hams. All fed and watered we explored for a wee bit before sending dad to bring Blue.
Back at our new home, I made a very sensible decision. After a busy morning at the market, a sunshine afternoon in the garden was clearly the order of the day. I found a good spot, settled myself down, and prepared to supervise absolutely nothing. Bliss.
We took it easy for the rest of the day. After dinner, we were still enjoying the warm evening in the garden when suddenly three enormous balloons floated overhead. I sat up at once Grrrrrrrrrr. Better not even think of landing here. Well, that was not something you see every day. I considered barking, just to make sure they knew I had noticed them, but decided instead the growl was enough. Large floating things should always have a beady eye on them by a watchful Poppy.
