Nice in Nice
Hi Poppysocks
Got in late last night and had a bit of a red wine disaster, washing your mums clothes at 1 in the morning. Had a great breakfast today, you would have loved it. Sausage, bacon and cheese. Headed out early trying to find the Liberation market. On the way we found this fountain.
A fair bit further on we found the market, it was not much to write home about.
The old town was much nicer lots of narrow cool streets.
In the middle of the old town was a wee cathedral, just as we got in we got kicked out. Everything seems to stop for lunch here.
Luckily we found a place to buy beer and wine that was close to the hotel. So we picked some up and headed back.
The hotel is very nice. This is the view from our terrace.
We decided to climb the 350 steps to the park behind the bellanda tower. It was hard going even you would have struggled with the steps. The views were good though.
One day we might bring you and Betsy here to go to Corsica.
Down at the harbour we took a boat ride around the coast. The first place we went to was Saint Jean Cap Ferrat. As the boat putted its way round the bay the guide pointed out Elton John’s house. It’s the yellow one at the top of the hill.
Next, he pointed out the place the Rolling Stones stayed when in tax exile.
It carried on to a place called Villefranche-sur-Mer. Looks pretty I think we will come back here.
The boat then shot off at high speed back to the middle of Nice Bay.
On the way back to the harbour it went right past the hotel we were staying at. You can see our terrace from here.
Back at the hotel we sat out on our terrace and had drinkies till the sun went down.
Having a good time wish you were here. Be nice for granny and granpa.
