Gallipoli and the end of the heel
Hi Poppy, today we went further afield, first stop was Gallipoli. It’s an old toun built on a walled island. Although there are tourists it still a real toun. The people here have strange ideas on how to display flowers.
It’s quite odd because outside the walls there are beaches.
As I was saying about the plants.
Because the streets are so narrow the ape is used for everything, locals wait till they here the horn and they look through their windows to see what shop has just rolled up.
We left Gallipoli and headed to the very end of the heel of the boot. There was a big church that had a large piazza in front of it.
From up here we got a great view of Torre Vado.
This is the famous lighthouse called Capo di Santa Maria di Leuca.
Will sign off now we are going to Lecce tomorrow. Wish you were here.
