Poppy goes to Croatia
Up early and the view from Betsy was very different from yesterday. Mr Sun was out and the loch was sparkling.
“Mon Poppysocks, walks” said Dad. He opened Betsy’s door and I jumped out onto the path. Quick sniff and left a p-mail on the path. Ok lets hit the beach!
After a short wander around the loch side I headed back to Betsy checking my p-mails as I went.
Betsy soon woke up and we were off. It was a long ride, I snoozed most of the way but noticed it was getting brighter and hotter. We dropped down from the hills above the sea and left Italy behind to enter Slovenia. Dad? I have been in Slovenia before haven’t I, I don’t remember it looking like this.
Soon we left Slovenia and entered Croatia. Mum wanted to visit a hill town called Grožnjan. We left the big road and got lost several times but eventually reached Grožnjan. There were no cars so dad let me off leash.
Grožnjan was an old town with narrow street, good for me narrow streets means lots of shadows. All the pepolesees were taking photographs.
The only problem with Grožnjan was the amount of pesky cats grrrrrr. Every time Mum or Dad saw one they put me back on leash. Still I did get to chase one of them.
Mum and dad seemed to like the place, I did too, plenty of new smells and places to explore. We could have stayed more but we still had a bit of a way to go.
Back in Betsy we were off again. It wasn’t long before we found another hill top town called Buje. “We are not stopping here Poppy, next stop is Camp” said dad.
The campsite was nice and shaded. Betsy needed a rest after the long drive. Mum said we were going into town for dinner tonight. It was cooler so I didn’t mind. When we started on the costal path to town I got my first sight of Rovinj. Mmmmm It’s miles away, do we have to?
Dinner was good I got some seafood goodness from Mum and Dad YUM.
It was getting dark so we started the long plod back to Betsy and sleeps.
