Seven Beaches

Seven Beaches

Bad weather girl said it was to be wet all day today. You would think she would know because she was born in Morar. It didn’t stop mum and dad from going out. We left camp and headed to the beach. I held back because there were just too many smells.

The first big beach was Traigh Beach. I like this beach because there is a big rock to climb at the start of it. Today the beach was quiet. The last time I was here it was mobbed.

The beach was very narrow because the tide was in. At the end of the first bay you have to climb the dunes to get to the second part of it. At least its not full of tents Dad. “Yeah Poppy the pandemic had a lot to answer for”, he said.

When we got to the end of the second bay a bus full of tourists stopped and they all got out. A few of them came over to say hello. We couldn’t stay long because we had another five beaches to get to.

At the end of Traigh Beach you cant go further along the shore so Dad put harness on me and we walked a short distance along the road. Just as the road bends inland there is a wee gap in the fence. I dragged Mum and Dad through the gap and down to the cove. I always like this one Mum.

The next beach was harder to get to. We had to clamber over a lot of rocks. Easy for me with my four paw drive but Mum was struggling. “Were not coming back that way”, she said. Anyhoo the beach was perfect for a game of ball.

Mr wind was being trixie, so ball was put away.  From the next beach we could see Camusdarach Beach. It was still a way to get there and we had to climb huge sand dunes that were between us and it.

At the top we discovered another beach we forgot about. Mum took a look at the rocks we would have to climb to get there and decided we should start to head back.

Back we went. When we got to the rock climbing bit Mum noticed a path beside an old boat house. “That way”. Funny I remembered the last time we did this walk we went through the trees. The only time we clambered over the rocks was the very first time back when I was a pup.

Just as we got back to camp the sky started to cry. Nearly made it without getting wet. The sky didn’t cry for long so I got to play ball on our beach.

After a last explore of the island before the tides come in and cut it off.

We stayed in for dinner and after dad did the dishes. As we settled in for the night Mr Sun decided it was his bedtime too.
