Dragon Train to Douglas
Today we were up early. “Big day out Poppy” said Mum. Mmmm wonder where we are going. Leaving camp we retraced our steps from yesterday. So were going to Port Erin then? Not much of a big day. When we got to town we went into the Train Station where mum bought tickets. Mmmm train Journey then. Out on the platform I heard a lot of hissing, puffing and a loud hoot. I turned my head, grrrrrrrrrrrrr. I know what that is ………Dragon. Better be on guard.

The dragon moved to the front of the train he was going to be pulling us. I jumped into a carriage with mum when a peoplesee came to clip the tickets. “Where’s her ticket,” he said pointing at me. “She cant travel without a ticket”. Hurry mum better get me a ticket before the dragon sets off. She made it just in Time HOOT, HOOT, we were offski. The train shoogled out of Port Erin rocking from side to side as she went. We were the only ones in the carriage so I jumped up on the seats. Mmmm comfy. Old trains are comfier than new trains.

The train chuffed through the Manx countryside, it soon passed Port St. Mary before turning along the coast to Corby. It was a hot day so it wasn’t surprising the dragon needed a rest at Castletown. When we got there another dragon was taking some time out at the station. This was jam packed full of peoplesees from a cruise ship.

The Dragon suitably rested started to drag us all the way to Douglas. Douglas was bigger than any other town on the island. After a quick explore around the port we headed to the beach. I worried this was going to be a repeat of yesterday, NO POPPYS ALLOWED, but, peoplesees in Douglas at least share the beach.

It was great. It’s good to be able to let loose your paws and go for it. I could run at full speed. First I would bomb through mum’s legs sharp turn then through Dad’s. This is a great game. Soon I was knackered.

After a rest we left the beach and headed to the promenade. Weird place the Isle of Man, they use dragons to pull trains and as I just discovered horsees to pull trams. I likes the promenade here. Nice and wide so its Poppys off leash times.

The town centre was very busy. Lots of shops and peoplesees. Forests of legs everywhere. It was getting on and we were getting hungry. Runch? Runch was a bit of a walk because Dad fancied a chippy. We stopped at The Terrace Chippy Diner. The nice lady brought me some water and mum got fishees and chips Dad got sausages. Too much food. Even though Dads sausages were wee He still couldn’t finish his food. Mum was the same so I got loads of fishees.

After Runch we went back to the train station via Tesco. Mum needed to pick something up for dinner tonight. At the train station the carriages were waiting for us but we had to wait for the dragon to come to pull them.

Dragon in place I picked the carriage we would have to go home. Hurry up Dad you will get left behind. It’s a long way to walk back to Betsy.
Back at camp we were having an easy night. Mum cooks dinner Dad does the washing up. The camp has got a lot busier today.
