Back on the road
Today we are going to Port Erin. First we took a mini tour of the island. Betsy headed north along the TT circuit. As it turned to go to Ramsey, Betsy took a wee road towards the coast. The road winded down a hill I Dad was glad that no cars came the other way. At the bottom Betsy found a nice place to rest and we all got out. So, where we at? “Blue Point Beach,” said mum. Mmmmm it might look nicer if the sun was out. OK had enough can we go back?

Back in Betsy she trundled along the byways of the island. We were meant to be heading down to the south of the island hugging the coast, fate had other ideas. The road she wanted to go down was closed, what now? Well Betsy did find another way….Via Ramsey. Back on the coast we passed through Peel heading south. Here again? We went all that way for Blue Point Beach, really? “Sorry Poppy, the locals said it was very beautiful up there”, said Dad. Ho Hum.
The next bit of the journey was weird. Betsy went over hill and down dale. She passed through several pretty villages before heading to the coastline again to a place called Niarbyl. Betsy stopped in a café carpark. Dad went to check out the café, it was deserted. Shame it would have been a nice place for a drinky. From the café a very small road headed down the steep hill to the water. This way then? At the bottom was a small fore shore with a few little cottages, not much here but I got to explore the rocks. A bit of a hike to get back to Betsy.

On the road again Betsy climbed and climbed. Then it got really strange. Outside the sky was moving. I have never seen anything like this. It was as if the clouds were attacking us like ghosts. One after another the sped across the moors surrounded Betsy and vanished into thin air before the next one came hurtling towards us. I don’t like this Dad, “Neither do I Poppy,” said dad. After a more than a few wee jiffies Betsy was free and started to go back down from the moors to the coast.
We reached Port Erin, sort of, but kept going. I thought we were going to Port Erin? Should we have not went to where the houses were? Betsy eventually stopped when the road ran out. Mmmm where are we? “We are at the Sound of Man Poppy. That Island is called the Calf of Man,” said Dad. Are we bagging another Island, please let’s go to the Island! I looked at dad, I gave him my best eyes and wagged my tail till it nearly fell off. “Not today Poppy, we have to get to camp” he said. Oh, OK then.

A little later Betsy pulled into a farm and found a place to rest for a few days. Nice enough this Glendown Farm. Once we were settled, I was guarding Betsy on my long lead when I heard a strange noise. WooooooooaWooooooooo! What’s that? Then at the bottom of the field I saw something. I know what that it Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. It’s a dragon.
