Otranto
Well Poppy what a time we had of it getting here. Taxi to bus stop, bus to the airport, van to the car hire then a long drive down here. The first surprise was our new neighbour. I’m sure you would get on, he says ciao to you every morning.
Otranto is three towns all rolled into one. The first part is the seaside Otranto. It has a big beach you would love. At the end of the bay we bumped into a Scottish couple who had their doggy with them. Maybe next time Poppy.
The centre is an ancient old town surrounded by city walls. We found the best place for lunch where they sell Italian small bites.
Well I said small bites but we were stuffed at the end, We wont order so much next time.
The next part is its marina, a few fishing boats but mostly sail boats. At the end its owned by the navy so you cant get in there. When we were here a rammy broke out that ended with a guy throwing his cigarettes at a speeding off car, well that was the entertainment for the day.
At night time it transforms. You have to enter through a huge gateway.
Once inside there are lots of shops, ice cream place, bars and restaurants. We had some really good meals here.
