Churches and Dancing Girls
Morning Poppy,up and away early. We decided to walk to the big church. First though we thought we would check out our local park. Its called The Garden of Plants. You would like this park better than Luxemburg. Lots of space for you to run around in.
After a wee walk we got to Notre Dame. It still smelled of smoke in places.
This was the best time to see it, very few people around. They are still doing work on it after the fire.
Next was another church called Sainte-Chapelle. This was much smaller but it had way better stained glass windows.
We then went on the hunt for things called galleries. Basically they are the same as the Argyle Arcade but with less jewellery shops.
On the way back to the metro we got our first view of the church on the hill. Bit different from ours Poppy.
It ends up Paris has got its own Barras! It even sells the same tat!
We got to the Opera and went into a shop called Galeries Lafayette Haussmann. It was a posh shop, you would like it because it is Poppy friendly. Nice ceiling though.
The shop even has a walkway that goes out under the dome.
Better still you can go out on the roof for the views.
It was now time to head back because tonight we are going out for dinner and a show. Walking back we stumbled upon the Opera House. Quite impressive.
We were soaked when we got back to the hotel but had to get our acts together quickly. Dinner and the show were three metro lines away. Dinner was at the Bouillon Service Pigalle. It was really nice and not too expensive. The place was mobbed. I felt sorry for the poor people outside queuing in the rain.
The show was just up the street at a place called The Moulin Rouge. First we stopped off for a drink dat the Irish bar next door. When we got to our table, they gave us a nicely chilled bottle of champagne.
The show was full on. It was late when we left and had to bop our way back to hotel, thankfully the Metro stays open, it would have been a long walk.
