Luss Weekender
Bad weather girl said it was going to be horrible all weekend. Dad was not convinced. “Lets go to Luss for the weekend” he said. Might be wet Dad but OK I’m game. It was sunny when we set off in Betsy and in no time we were trundling up beside Loch Lomond. Betsy pulled in at Luss and we were soon camped up for the weekend.
I like this pitch dad we have had it before haven’t we? Sniff, sniff sniff sniff. Yip know where I’m at and I’m off to the beach. Betsy you lucked out this time look how close you are to the water.
“Poppy! Poppy! Where are you? Come!” dad was shouting from Betsy. Grrrrrrrough! Grrrrrough, rough, rough,……..rough. Down here Dad. Back to the important job of sniffing about. When Mum and Dad came down to see me. “Poppy look at your face, come here and I’ll get those leaves off your chops” said Dad. No chance think I button up the back? If I come there you will try and get my eyesees.
Next morning we went into the village. As we were leaving the camp mum noticed the hotel next to us was Poppy friendly so Dad booked us in for dinner tonight. Saves a big walk. For a change we did our Luss trail backwards. We started down at the beach. A few peoplesees came up to us and asked where the sauna was. I looked up at Mum. Sauna in Luss?
Luss was quite busy and peoplesees seemed surprised to see me walking about the pier. To get away from the forest of legs we headed to wards the church. Mum what’s that? Not seen that before. “Ah, that’s the Luss Sauna Poppy” she said. Mmmm what is a sauna anyways?
Cutting through the trees we followed the river to the back end of the church. I ran up the steps and at the top barked to get mum and dad to follow.
Luss church is a great place to run about. It’s not just me that thinks that, you can tell with all the different smells lots of other doggys think so too.
We couldn’t get into the park because the bridge was broken. Wonder when that happened. Looks like we will just have to do the river run today. If you follow the river It takes you up to the Faerie Glen. Poppys loves this walk because I get off leash and there are millions of smells.
I was bushed when we got back to Betsy so went for a wee nap.
While I was sleeping the weather turned bad. Glad we got back to Betsy before the sky started crying. As I looked out the window I saw a robin. Look Mum, even the wee robin is hiding from the wet.
The weather was set for the day. I’m just glad we are only going next door for dinner.
