Postcard from Yosemite

Postcard from Yosemite

The drive from Sequoia to Yosemite was one of the shortest of the trip so far and arguably the nicest. First we came back down the mountains then along a pretty valley with a river running through it, very pleasant. We entered Yosemite from the south heading for tunnel view. Well we soon found out why it was called tunnel view.

We got out at the carpark to have a closer look.

Following the road down to the valley floor we pulled over to have a nose around the river. You would like it here plenty of places for you to sniff out.

Further up the river we saw people getting ready for a wedding. It was an excellent venue for it and the weather was playing ball.

It was very pleasant walking along side the river, nice and warm comparing to back home.

Further along we crossed a large meadow to check out a waterfall. The meadow would be perfect for playing ball.

On the other side we came across a bridge to cross the river, never saw any fish in it.

Hiding in the trees at the edge of the meadow were a few wee wooden houses. They were fairly well hidden.

Soon we crossed a road to get to the falls. These are the Yosemite Falls. They were not the biggest but very pretty being framed by the trees.

We jumped a shuttle and got off at a the trail head to mirror lake, a trail head is just the start of a path poppy. Well mirror lake was more of a small pond and not too reflective.

The drive to and from the park was really nice. Similar to the last park the road follows the river up and down a valley.

the road home

Last walk of the day, off to see the Venral Falls. To get there we had to follow the mist trail. Well for miles there was no mist about it. Hot dry and steep. Finally when we got there it did start to mist.

Well it was time to go home we were going out to dinner, thankfully going down was quicker than coming up.

what goes up

Next stop the Pacific Poppysocks. We will send you a line from there.
