Post card from Palm Springs

Post card from Palm Springs

We eventually made it to Palm Springs! The journey from LAX to the hotel was spoiled by the Los Angeles traffic. Endless line of cars, stop go stop go. We got into the hotel late and tired. A few wee drinkies and bed.

The next morning, we got up early and headed to a classic American diner for a hearty breakfast of pancakes, eggs, bacon, country sausage, toast and coffee, we filled our boots, you would have loved it. Soon we were off in the huge rented Jeep. Poppy it was so big you would have no chance of jumping in. The drive to the park was uneventful. After an hour we paid our dues and were in.

It’s a weird place the desert hear. The trees are weird. We got out of the Jeep and went for a wander. You would have liked it, not to hot.

Its not just the trees that are weird here Popsocks, the rocks are weird too. It wouldn’t stop you scrambling all over them.

One thing for sure Tink, I wouldn’t want you nosing around here. The plants are spiky. Worse when they jab you it’s very hard to get the spikes off.

On the way back we hit a dust storm, man Poppy it was a strange experience, I was just glad to be in the Jeep. Bizarrely as we got to Palm Springs nothing. We got cleaned up and headed it to town for dinner at The Tropical. It’s quite a nice town. We could have spent more time here.

For some reason they had a huge statue of Marlin Monro, well whatever floats their boat I suppose.

The Tropical is a nice place for dinner. Al fresco in a nice sort of courtyard. Food was really good with one exception. They are hopeless at pizza! Any way offski tomorrow will drop you a note from Death Vally.
