One Day in Prague
Hi Tink,
we got here last night Plane, bus then tram. The pad is ok but the blue Pepsi we bought at the airport was horrible. Good job there was a wee shop just round the corner and I managed to get some beer. We set off early doors to explore. This is a picture of where we are staying.
After we visited the John Lennon wall, which was rubbish by the way, we walked to the King Charles bridge. Bit different from the bridges in Glasgow eh?
As we were walking over it we saw a water wheel. I think we will be going up this canal on the boat trip Mum has booked.
To get to the boat we had to cross the bridge an go down the other side of the river. It was a lovely day and the views were pretty.
There were a few locals out fishing on the river so there must be fish in there.
On the boat there was only Me, Mum and two French women. Prague look a wee bit different from river level.
The boat went under the bridges then flipped back to the wee canal. The boatman told us the water wheel was only electrically powered, just for the tourists.
Earlier we saw a bride and groom on “the bridge” getting there wedding photos taken, now we saw them down at the river. Me and Mum have been on that bank before, you do get nice photos from there. One thing for sure if ever you are here we will not be going to that bank. Do you see the huge rats? There called Nutria, they are big and attack dogs! Don’t know how you would fair with them.
As the boat went back to the pier we got a nice view of the castle. When we docked we realised we had no Euros to leave a tip for the boatman, our bad.
Back on dry land mum was trying to find the tourist info. She wanted to ride a tourist tram and get directions to the O2 Universum where we had tickets to see a guy called Bob Dylan. On the way there we came across the famous astrological clock.
Time for brunch. The restaurant was the other side of the bridge. I was called Restaurant Mlýnec. We had a few moments to spare so we took in the view.
What a brunch it was the food was great and you could drink as much as you wanted. Mum pulled a fly one to get a better table.
After all the free drink I had to visit the little boys room. Never seen anything like this before!
After brunch we were reeling! I don’t remember how we got to the tram but we did and here is a photo to prove it.
We had a few wee drinkies before we headed off to the gig. First we had to find a subway station. I love Prague’s subway stations, they are so 70’s.
Well when we got to the gig we had really good seats with a great view. The only problem was Bob Dylan was rotten. So rotten we left early.
On the way out I realised I had left my pipe so as I went back to get it I was stopped. There was no way they were letting us back in they even got the bouncers to make sure we left. Worse than that Mums Purse was missing. So to sum up Prague, Good Morning, good food, great afternoon Pish poor evening with Bob Dylan and the O2 Universum. See you soon wee yin, missing you.
