Last Day in Rovinj
We are taking it easy today so got up a bit later than normal. Our German neighbours from Windehausen were leaving to go back home today. Dad just loved their van. It’s a bit bigger than Betsy.
I said my goodbyes as we headed into town. You know sometimes Poppys can’t be bothered. This was one of those days. By the time we got to The Strand I had to stop to cool my tum. I’m going no further.
Dad picked me up and carried me all the way to where there was some shade on the pavement. Back in the old town Mum went into a shop I just hung around outside having a good nose about.
So what we doing today? Boat trip? “No Poppy we are going up to the top of town” said Dad. Oh OK then, lets go, up here.
Poppys likes the old town. Its nice and quite with no cars and the streets have plenty of shade.
At the top of the hill was a big church. Mum went inside to climb the tower and me and Dad stayed outside in the shade. Well did I not meet one of my German cousins. His mum was super exited to meet me and took a photo us. Dad couldn’t take one because mum had his camera.
Now the tower was ticked off we explored the other side of the town. Lots and lots of new smells to discover.
“Look Poppy, up there, That’s where I climbed to” said Mum, Rather her than me!
What goes up and all that, well, there was millions of steps to come back down.
After getting lost I eventually led Mum and Dad out of the old city.
As we got back to camp we decided to walk away from town round the bay that was next to camp. It was pleasant enough I got to stay off leash and even got to dip my paws. At the marina Mum decided it was time to go back because I tried to warn the locals about the danger they were in with the water.
Back at camping Porton our German neighbours had left. I went under Betsy for a snooze.
Later we were going out for dinner. Mum Dad can we not just eat at camp? I can’t be bothered to go into town. No joy, we headed to the exit going past the German football fans’ pitch. Dad these guys know how to drink the daft juice. Look at the fridges they have got.
Well Mum and Dad listened to my pleading, no trudge into town for dinner tonight. We stopped of at the Strand. We had a great table with good views. I could not believe the size of the steak Dad got.
After dinner Mum and Dad had a few drinks. It was a good spot. Nice sea breeze as Mr Sun got ready for bed.
As we left I had a look over my shoulder. I can tell when we are moving on so I said my bye byes to Rovinj and headed back to Betsy and beds.
