Banned from the Busses

Banned from the Busses

Another early rise and a walk into town for us. Rovinj is miles and miles away. Dad, do we have to walk all that way? “It’s not that far Poppy,” said Dad. Aye maybe for your long legs dad. When we got to the town there was a big market below the town. It was still early but starting to get hot. I pulled dad into a small lane, it was nice and cool here. The clever peoplesees from Rovinj build holes in the street that brings cool breezes from the sea into the streets.

We plodded about some of the streets and I found the place for me. Look dad This hotel is called The Cadel Dogy. “Close Poppy it’s Doge not Doggy”, he said. MMMmmm Huh?

On the other side of the town the streets got wider. This let Mr Sun make the pavements hot. Mum walked to the end of a pier to ask the boat peoplesees about a trip to the island of Katarina. He said just turn up no problems. Good another island to bag. We then went to book a place to eat for tonight. Tonight we would be eating at The Maestral Restaurant on the harbour.

Since we were here Mum decided to find out about a bus trip to Pula. This is when things started to go down hill for me in Croatia. Poppys are banned from buses in Croatia. Have you ever heard the like. I mean totally banned, not allowed on even with nasty muzzles. By now it was really hot. Lets get back to Betsy. It was so hot dad even lifted me part of the way, good dad.

We let Mr Sun lie down a bit before we headed in for diner. Even then it was still very warm. I found a few slipways where I could cool my paws before the long slog into town.

Dinner was OK, Dad had an issue with his though. I thought it looked like an OK pizza but dad was not chuffed. “That’s the first time in my life I have chipped a tooth on pizza,” he said. Poor Dad.

We left the Maestral, dad left no tip. Still the view was nice. It was getting cooler so we plodded round the harbour in the dusk. Poppys likes this harbour at dusk, lots of smells and a lot easier to walk.
