Poppy goes to Aberlady

Poppy goes to Aberlady

This morning I woke up but wait this is not bed. I opened my eyes and had a big stretch ah I remember we are in Betsy. I jumped down to the floor went to the door, flicking a look at Dad. Moan Dad, morning patrol. It was a grey sort of day, can’t remember the last time I saw blue skys. At least it was warm enough to stay out and it was good to see the sky wasn’t crying.

After breky we plodded into the village, it was a nice wee place, plenty of new smells. It didn’t take long to explore and I was on leash because it had a busy main road. At the end of the village I found a church with a stone park. Stone parks are great because I am allowed off leash to run a round.

The main reason for coming out this morning was to find the bus stop to North Berwick. We searched high and low and could only find the bus stop to Edinburgh. On the bright side I got to go down to the front. Zoomies! I ran about so much I was soon knackerd.

After lunch the peoplesees at the camp site told dad a bus stopped right outside the campsite and it would take us to North Berwick. Trew enough bus came and we were off. It stopped at Gullane and Yellowcraig, nice ice cream in Gullane and a really good beach at Yellowcraig. We have not been there in two years, before I had my accident. The bus pulled into North Berwick, it was a forest of legs. I had to be very careful not to be kicked or trod on. Its been ages since I have been here and I just didn’t remember it looking like this. I suppose seven years is a long time. Outside the church were small themed gardens, OK dad so what is a wizard of Oz?

Further down the main street Mum saw a picture and wanted to investigate. This was a nice shop, poppys were allowed in. I just don’t get why mum and dad thought the pictures of seagulls was so good. Suddenly I heard that noise “ting a ling a ling”. Got to get out of hear NOW!

We wondered around the town away from the nasty bell, mum was trying to find the entrance to Fringe by the Sea. Dad said we were going to see Air there tomorrow. We looked high and low, nothing. Mum did however pick up two metal goblets for betsy. I was getting board. Beach? “OK Poppy lets go to the beach. On the way there I met one of my cousins, had a bit of playtime then met a strange wooden man. He didn’t have much to say.

After beach it was time to explore the harbour. I kind of remember it from the last time but it just seemed different. Same smells but something was different. Then I noticed some beach huts, mmmmm this looks worth an explore.

There wasn’t much to see so we left the harbour and went to the south beach. This I remembered. It has an outdoor swimming pool and is a much bigger beach.

I was getting tired and I remembered the crowds at the bus stop. Do you think we should go back now Mum? “You are probably right Poppy”. On the way we discovered the entrance to Fringe by the Sea, result. An added bonus was mum picked up pies from the butchers, they smelled yummy.
