Birthday trip to Stirling

Birthday trip to Stirling

As part of Dads birthday weekend we are going on an adventure in Blue. When we piled in mum carried me because the weather was horrible. As we drove the sky got bluer and bluer and Mr Sun came out to play. No sooner had we left Blue the skys opened and we beat a path for shelter where dad put my coat on me. The sky stopped crying so we were off again. First, we went to a stone park in The Church of the Holy Rude.

We explored the stone park, lots of places to climb.

From the top of a wee hill I could see for miles and miles.

Dad insisted that I got my picture taken in some yellow flowers, he said it was the spring shot for next years calendar.

We left the stone park and followed a path that would take us round the back of the castle. Dad? What does this sign mean? It means we are not allowed to go any further. Mmmm, stop? No way too many smells this way, lets go.

The path round the back of the castle was high above the road. It was blocked in a few places but nothing Poppys couldn’t get round. It went through woods finally coming out at another stone park. They like stone parks here  don’t they mum.

Dad can we go to the castle? OK Poppy but you might not be allowed in.

At the castle it wasn’t that poppys were not allowed I think it was the price to get in that put Dad off. At the castle gates I was petted by two Americans. They even took my picture. As they rushed off we went back to the first stone park.

Mum was getting hungry, so was I so we went onto a path called the back walk. Good name as it took us back into town.

In the town centre I spotted a huge boxer in the window of a café. Looks like this is the place for lunch then. Mum got a hame mustard and cheese toastie dad got a sausage and bacon role. Mums was the best.

After exploring the town centre it was time to book into a hotel. Mum booked this hotel yesterday, we got the last room. The hotel looked more like a court house than a hotel but it was nice enough. It was called The Colessio.

All checked in we were off again. This time we were going to a park. It was called Kings Park. Kings Park is not as good as Queens Park, my home park is great. Still I got to run about.

Time was getting on and we had a big hill to climb so we plodded back towards the castle.

Back in the hotel it was nice and warm, I went for a snooze as Dad watched the football. It was Scotland against Japan. Dad said Scotland were rubbish. Mum and Dad started to drink daft juice, I curled up in bed. It was a long day, but a good day.
