Today is mum’s birthday and we are going into the Trossachs for the weekend. Mini is all packed up and we’re offski. We are going to a lodge in a place called Balquhidder in Rob Roy country. Mum was happy because the lodge had a hot tub, me not so much hot tubs do nothing for me. We passed by Aberfoyle and continued onwards. A signpost came up for Balquhidder so we came off the main road and onto single track. When we got to Balquhidder the penny dropped, we were meant to go to Balquhidder Station! A u turn and 15 minutes of crawling down the single track road. We came to the Mhor 84 Motel so dad decided to ask for directions. We were close, so close, 1 mile down the road and first right. We pulled off the road and on to a dirt track that climbed the hill at the side of the glen, at the end of track was the lodge we would be staying in for the weekend. I had enough I wanted out so I started to back and bark. Dad got me out and let me loose, no cars up here!
Smells everywhere, the lodge had a lot of outside space mum and dad were happy to let me explore. Since it was mum’s birthday there was champagne and Chicago style deep pan pizza that dad makes for dinner. Mum’s favourite bit was champagne in the hot tub, as she sipped from the glass the snow started falling. Too cold for Poppys I went inside to snuggle up in the sheepskins.
