Madchester
Our house woke up early this morning. It was still dark when I was going out for morning patrol. Oddly after one pee dad took me to Blue and we were off. Blue took us into town by then it was getting brighter. Mum got out and picked up a wheely case from the boot. MMMmmmm something is astray here. We walked along side the river, perfect means I can be off leash.
Soon we were in a big building where trains live. I have never seen so many trains in one place. I followed mum as she rolled the case up to a big train. We going in that? “Yes Poppy, jump on.” said dad. Big jump. Dad picked me up and put me on the train. We found some seats and settled in. Soon the train rumbled into life and we were off.
We were on the train for ages I was very thirsty. Dad disappeared, when he came back he had a bottle of water for me. Joy. Thanks Dad. As the train got close to a place called Preston, Mum started packing everything away. Mmm must be getting off.
We never left the station and soon we were on another train but not as posh as the last one and we were only on it for a wee while. We got off in a big city that had huge shiny buildings. Where we going? “We are going to our room for the night Poppy”. Oh OK then. Madchester was very busy. It was hard walking through the forest of legs. I was glad when we got to our hotel.
We weren’t in it for long before we hit the streets.
Mum wanted to go to the canal basin so we headed off following the directions in her talk box. It wasn’t long before she realised something was amiss. Ho hum back the way we came then. Dad then decided to take a short cut. I’m glad he did because we found a park and even better squirrelsees to chase.
I soon got us on the right track where there is one canal they are usually others. I learned this from my time on narrow boat.
Sure enough I soon found the basin. This is right isn’t it Mum?
I have never seen a canal with so many tall building surrounding it, funny kind of canal this.
We followed the canal through the centre of Madchester until it disappeared under a building. Mmmm dark in there, no thanks poppys is not going in there. I spotted some stairs as I headed for them a nasty geesees hissed at me, good job I was on leash or I would have had it.
On the way back to the hotel in Deansgate we went up canal street and back towards the city centre. We walked through a place with lots of Chinese peoplesees. I looked up at dad, “this is Chinatown Poppy” mmm Glasgow doesn’t have one of these.
Back at the Yotel hotel in Deansgate mum and dad started to drink daft juice. Fine be me I’m just happy with water. Oddly dad put harness on me. Mum got up as well, we must be going out for din dins. Well din dins was a surprise, normally I get some of mum’s and dad’s, but here, I even get to pick from a menu! Even better we didn’t have to leave the hotel
Dinner was great, chicken, rice and gravy. It was so good I nearly scoffed the lot. Dad was laughing at me because I had gravy all over my chin. Not for long my long tongue soon made short shrift of that. YUM. Motley is my favourite restaurant in the world.
After dinner I was shattered it was a long day. Room was nice and warm bed comfy and a full belly. Time for bed boes.
We are going to be up early tomorrow, but I really want to come back to Yotel. The hotel peoplesees were so nice, every one remembered me. But best of all Poppys really recommends Motley.
