Races in Peel

It was grey when we got up Betsy was resting in a quiet spot in the corner of the campsite. Oddly cones had been setup beside her, looks like we are going to get new neighbours. The camp was fairly busy with a large group of girl guides, quiet enough, and vans mostly from here.

After brecky we headed into town. The skys were grey so Dad put my coat in his pocket just in case it started to cry. It did. We waited in a store front for it to stop before going down to the sea front. When we got to beach there were lots of signs saying, “No Poppys Allowed”. Spoil sports, I mean the beach is empty. Going back to the harbour we spotted a group of Scottish lads, bit early in the day for hitting the daft juice lads. Dad said they were a team of Viking boat racers. Stop pulling my paw. As if they could race anything after putting all that away. We crossed a bridge and found a beach I was allowed on next to the castle not as nice as the other one but at least I could dip my paws.

The Viking boat race was due to start so we went back to the harbour to get a better view. First up were some dapper looking peoplesees, waste coats and caps. Mmmm funny way to dress for a race.

Soon after the Scottish team were out. Despite their early morning drinking they put up a good show. They did look the part.

Races over we went back up the hill to Betsy. Mum and Dad decided to move her because they thought we would be getting noisy neighbours so she moved up to the top field. I was feeling sleepy so snoozed away the afternoon on Mum.

We went out for dinner tonight at a place called the Boatyard. Mum and Dad really enjoyed it, me? Not so much. They never ordered anything I could eat so I had to make do with a denti and some treats. Where’s the fish mum?

After dinner we heard some strange noises coming from a church. I went to investigate. Inside were a lot of peoplesees watching a brass band. Mum and Dad watched them for a bit. As it started to get dark we headed back to Betsy. More Adventures tomorrow.
