Back to St Monans

Back to St Monans

This weekend we are going to St Monans. Dad said it was five years since we have been here. Well Betsy was in no hurry as she has a problem with her front paw. When we got there and setup camp we were off. Climbing down the hill we arrived at the outdoor swimming pool and salt works where I played ball when I was a pup.

Ball Ball Ball! “Sorry Poppy, you are not allowed ball since you done in your cruciate ligament last year” said dad. Pure Rubbish! Suppose I better just explore then. Mmmm the pool has gone down hill since I was last here.

We headed off towards Pittenween along the coast path. The coast looked a bit threatening as we left St Monans.

Just before we got to Pittenween I looked down to their pool. The pool at Pittenween is in much better nick than the one at St Monans. Look Dad, Look! Dafties are in the pool! Are they mad?

Just around the corner from the pool is a putting green. Well a blue scotty was sitting amongst the flower beds. I have seen these before, last time was at Crail. They are not real by the way.

Down the hill and into Pittenweem. The sea was in so no play on the beach for me.

It was very quiet. At the first part of the village there was not a single soul to be found. Where have all the peoplesees gone?

We soon discovered. We had come here to book a table for dinner tomorrow and as we came up to Chip Ahoy there were lots of peoplesees queuing outside for take away fishees and chips. As soon as I walked inside I remembered the place. Mum, Dad, theres that scary witch. I’m not going in there! “Poppy you’re a big girl now, look, its not real” said Dad. Mmmm I gave it a sniff. OK maybe your right. So what about din dins tonight? “Back at Betsy” said Mum. We squeezed past the peoplesees getting their dinners and headed back.

It was a nice walk back, the sky never cried and as Mr Sun went to bed he left lots of sparkles on the water. Betsy was nice and toasty. We spent the night with two heaters on watching telly and Mum and Dad drinking daft juice. My last patrol of the day before bed bows I was out with Dad. He went to go into the place where I’m not allowed. Stuff that. It’s dark out here. I’m coming with.
